Bupa launches market-leading health benefits for UK frontline employees

The new benefits range from access to GP services to physiotherapy and mental health support, and have been designed in response to feedback from Bupa’s frontline teams on the services that they would most value.

  • Bupa Global & UK announces primary care support package for 15,000 frontline employees, ‘MyHealthcare’
  • Includes access to GPs, physiotherapy and mental health support with further benefits to be rolled out throughout 2023
  • The UK roll out is part of Bupa’s global ambition to enhance health benefits for all employees

Leading healthcare provider Bupa has launched ‘MyHealthcare’, a new market-leading health benefits proposition for UK frontline employees, providing world-class medical support.

The new benefits range from access to GP services to physiotherapy and mental health support, and have been designed in response to feedback from Bupa’s frontline teams on the services that they would most value.

The launch of MyHealthcare benefits more than 15,000 Bupa frontline employees in Bupa care homes and dental practices, with access to key services offering peace of mind.

The new package is available from day one of employment for permanent staff and is cost-free to employees, with Bupa paying the tax benefit on behalf of colleagues and therefore not impacting their take-home pay.

Bupa people will have access to Bupa’s world-class primary care services, including:

  • Remote GP appointments, including at evenings and weekends
  • Physiotherapy support
  • Mental health support
  • Access to Bupa’s 24/7 nurse helpline
  • Further benefits to be added throughout the year

Tom Hoosen-Webber, Chief People & Procurement Officer at Bupa Global & UK said: “At Bupa, people are at the heart of our business and we want to keep them healthy and happy in their roles. We are proud to deliver the highest quality medical care to our patients, residents and customers, and we want our hardworking teams to have access to this same high quality care.

“Colleagues now have health benefits that meet their needs without the financial burden, and have access to medical support in a flexible way. We are proud to be an employer of choice and want people to come and grow their careers with Bupa. So we continue to listen to our people and want them to know they are valued and cared for, while they are caring for our customers.”

The primary care support for frontline workers is the first phase of a global wellbeing programme, Bupa Viva, which includes all aspects of health – from mental and physical, to financial, social and environmental wellbeing. Bupa Viva will see Bupa enhancing health benefits and medical cover for all employees worldwide throughout 2023.
