13.000 vacancies in the Belgian ICT sector: Actonomy technology used to attract women!

E-gender, an e-project supported by the European Social Fund and created by Flanders Multimedia Valley, will be launched this weekend

E-gender, an e-project supported by the European Social Fund and created by Flanders Multimedia Valley, will be launched this weekend. The project's objective is stimulating women to enter the ICT sector. With more than 13.000 vacancies in the ICT sector, it is important to make women aware the ICT sector is not only a men's world. Also employers need to become aware.

E-gender runs on the Actonomy xMP matching engine, allowing to match the interests and capabilities of women -often women with different or lower educations- with generic profiles of functions in the ICT industry.

Six weeks long, lovely hostesses with PDA's will attack major cities in Belgium, asking women to answer a set of questions referring to their behaviour, interests, capabilities and so on. These answers are being sent -via wireless connections- to the matching platform, which matches the answers with generic ICT profiles. The application will advise possible generic functions in the ICT sector, based on matching of the interests and profile of the women who answered the questions.
