Julyís Bank of Scotland Labour Market Report highlighted a firm Scottish labour market in July, although growth rates were down slightly on June's record highs. Demand for staff is firm and salaries continue to rise in a tight labour market.
The report's labour market barometer recorded a level of 62.6 in July, down on Juneís survey high of 64.4, but still indicative of a substantial rate of growth in the Scottish labour market. The index was broadly in line with the equivalent barometer for the wider UK economy.
Demand was strongest for permanent Nursing/Medical/Care staff and temporary Engineering & Construction workers.
