The University of Lutonís Business School has been given accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), for its MSc in Human Resource Management - and the proposed programme was highly commended for its excellent teaching and learning provision.

The validation means that hundreds of professionals around the region can benefit from the two-year course, which will run from October 2005 at its Management Centre at Putteridge Bury.

ìThis is great news for the University,î said Sue Bathmaker, Head of Business and Management Development. ìWe are delighted to be given such a strong endorsement by the CIPD. It gives us great confidence going forward.

ìWe have noticed that demand for the qualification has grown in recent years, with more and more managers needing higher-level qualifications to enhance their career prospects. Now professionals around the region can study this excellent course right on their doorstep.î

The course has been designed to be flexible, allowing students with suitable prior qualifications and experience to gain exemption from some of the modules, so they can complete the course in less time. It will also allow HR professionals to gain graduate membership of the CIPD.

The integrated programme covers several key areas, including employee relations, strategic HR management, business communications and training and development.
