The Higher Education Careers Service Unit, HECSU, will this week launch its first-ever website, designed to provide news and information on research and development in the field of graduate careers and careers guidance.
The site, www.hecsu.ac.uk, will act as a central repository for all research on the graduate career market, both by HECSU and relevant third parties, making it an invaluable resource for researchers and careers guidance practitioners. It is also anticipated to be of interest for students and parents.
Published research will be available to download, including industry staples from HECSUís trading subsidiary, Graduate Prospects, such as Graduate Market Trends (GMT) and What Do Graduates Do? (WDGD?) The ëwork in progressí section will help maintain awareness of projects currently in the field, such as the new longitudinal project announced by HECSU last week, and feature interim reports with the latest key findings.
The site will profile some of HECSUís key researchers and feature a calendar of important conferences and events organized by HECSU for the sector. HECSUís ëResearch Notesí, short summaries of findings from research or development projects aimed at careers professionals, will also be downloadable.
Commenting on the new website, Mike Hill, CEO of HECSU, said:
With the issue of graduate careers and employability under ever more intense scrutiny, itís impossible to underestimate the value of research in this sector. The website will be an important resource for anyone interested in graduate careers and ensure synergy across research projects in this sector.î
