Underwired Makes Recruitment Highly Accessible

Underwired launches five web sites which are built to conform to the highest possible accessibility standard

London-based digital agency Underwired launches five web sites which are built to conform to the highest possible accessibility standard - Bobby AAA - for Recruitment Exhibitions, the specialist graduate and school leaver exhibition organiser. The sites include National Graduate Law Fair, The Guardian Summer Graduate Fair, EGREX (which attracts more visitors and employers than any other graduate fair in the UK), GRADES and Employability (produced in partnership with the Disability Rights Commission). Bobby AAA is designed to ensure sites can be used by people regardless of physical ability.

The five sites are all managed through Underwiredís own Content Management System, which allows Recruitment Exhibitions to manage all content, graphics and forms, while maintaining the AAA status of the websites. The system has been adapted to enable the creation of new sites as the portfolio of events increases.

Recruitment Exhibitions currently attracts over 50,000 people a year to its events, all of whom use the websites for information and registration. Recruitment Exhibitions chose Underwired because of its creative and production credentials. The agency has developed websites for Virgin Holidays, AAR, Penguin, Selfridges and the Open University, and is the production company for all of Friends Reunitedís online advertising.

Tony Olson, head of marketing at Recruitment Exhibitions, said, Recruitment Exhibitions went through a lengthy process to find a design agency that could not only show a understanding of online marketing, technical excellence and a clear design process, but who also understood the business results we wanted to achieve and how to guide us to achieve them. Underwired demonstrated all of this and more, shaping the goals and objectives to the benefit of the sites.

Olson continued: We now have complete control of the sites we run, with the ability to update them on the fly as news, features and exhibitors at our events change.

The sites are fast, reliable and Bobby AAA compliant, which was critical to us as an organisation working with events that do need to be accessible to all.
