STARK Building Materials UK has launched a new careers website, Working at STARK, designed to make the range of roles and development opportunities in the building-materials sector clearer to people at different stages of their working lives.

The site is aimed at school leavers, career changers and returners. It brings together job search, colleague stories and career information, using personalised content to help visitors explore roles that fit their interests.

Showing progression, not just vacancies

STARK says the platform is intended to show that careers can begin in an apprenticeship, branch role or driving job and lead into management, project, digital or AI-focused work.

“Too often young people don’t realise you can start as an apprentice in a branch or behind the wheel of a lorry, and end up running a branch, managing projects or working in digital and AI.”

— Carol Kavanagh, HR Director, STARK UK

For recruitment teams, the launch is an example of using careers content to explain progression as well as advertise vacancies. That can be particularly useful in sectors that face skills shortages or compete with more visible career paths.

A clearer route from interest to application

The website brings together job search, employee stories and career information so candidates can better understand where they could fit before applying. STARK also highlights training, development and benefits including wellbeing support, flexible holiday options, travel schemes, pension contributions, critical illness cover and life assurance.
