This yearís annual Praxis Executive Interim Manager of the Year award has been won by Julie Willcocks ñ the first woman to win in the awardsí six year history.
A highly experienced programme manager with nearly fifteen yearsí exposure to major projects at organisations such as John Laing, Vodafone, Telewest and Dixons, Julie won the 2007 award for the creation of shared services at Alliance and Leicester. Simon Lloyd, Alliance and Leicesterís Group Secretary, who nominated her for the award, described her as ìcompletely dedicatedî and ìa real pleasure to work withî. He also went on to say that she had ìdone a superb job, delivering over and above what is required. She has become a very valuable member of the team and delivered tremendous value.î
ìThis year over 2000 chief executives, HR directors and finance directors, as well as 4000 professional interim managers took part in the nomination process, more than ever before,î says Sanjay Gohil, head of interim management recruitment at Praxis Executive, which sponsors the awards. ìThe warmth and enthusiasm with which organisations describe their interims made the final choice very difficult, but Julieís commitment and capabilities made her stand out from some very tough competition. When picking a winner, the judges look for the key factors that make a truly successful interim manager ñ technical excellence, a positive attitude, the ability to integrate quickly, good humour and strong people management skills ñ and Julie scored highly in every single area.î
