From September 2007 The Sportsweb Recruitment Agency will trade under the group name SRG to better reflect their business portfolio. During the past decade Sportsweb has embraced and grown with the leisure industryís continued widening of its sectors (which now range from health, fitness and beauty to recreation, travel & tourism, hospitality & events). Therefore the name Sportsweb no longer reflected the business operations of its clients and candidates.
This change in no way affects SRGís commitment to its clients, in fact, it illustrates their continued challenge of casting their nets wider to offer a better and broader range of talent that meet businesses growing needs.
Marc Moreso, Managing Director of SRG comments, ìThe Leisure Industry now employs 13.5% of all UK workers (over 3 million people) and sport related jobs alone account for 40,000 employees. As a whole the leisure sector now accounts for 10% of UK gross domestic product. This surge in growth made us recognise the need to provide clients with CVís from a much wider range of industries to fulfil all the new roles.î
The birth of leisure super-centres, such as Next Generation in Hatfield, offer facilities that encompass bars, crches, restaurants, spas, hairdressers, cinemas, shops and banqueting and conference facilities in addition to the usual fitness facilities. General Managers of health clubs now run many businesses within their organisation and seek candidates such as events organisers, spa managers, entertainers, hairdressers, crche staff, chefs and bar staff.
