It was announced this week that the RECís Director of External Relations Tom Hadley has been appointed to the board of Eurociett, the representative body for the recruitment industry across Europe.
The vote took place during the Eurociett general assembly meeting in Brussels. The REC was previously represented on the board by Marcia Roberts, its former Chief Executive Officer.
Commenting on his appointment, Hadley said: ìWith so much European legislation currently in the pipeline, it is more important than ever that the UK recruitment industry has a strong voice in Brussels. Being represented on the board means that the REC can take forward the views of members and contribute effectively to a proactive pan-European campaign thus raising awareness of the industry and highlighting the job creating benefits that agencies can bring across the EU.
ìIn addition to the lobbying priorities, Eurociett will play an active role in helping the industry to develop across Europe and will help to open up new markets for agencies.î
Eurociett is made up of recruitment federations from across Europe as well as six leading multi-national agencies ñ Manpower, Adecco, Kelly Services, Randstad and Vedior and USG People.
