NHS wins Gold for SkillSoft at IT Training Awards

.

SkillSoft scooped the top award for ëe-Learning Project of the Yearí at the IT Training Awards last night for the part it played in providing leadership training to 40,000 nurses.

The award was presented by the Institute of IT Training to the SkillSoft and NHS teams at the Dorchester Hotel in front of hundreds of industry professionals. After accepting the award on behalf of both organisations,
David Dawes, e-Learning Development Manager for the Nursing Leadership Project said:

ìThereís no doubt that e-Learning has played a major role in unleashing the potential of our nurses. Almost 70% of those who have taken a SkillSoft course can give actual examples of how they have used what they learned on
the wards. We set out to improve the patient experience by liberating the talents of nurses and weíve succeeded beyond our wildest expectations!î

Kevin Young, Managing Director of SkillSoft, EMEA added:

ìThis award isnít just a victory for SkillSoft and the NHS, itís a victory for e-Learning in general. The NHS project is a perfect example of how proven generic content can be successfully adapted to fit the needs of any organisation. And it demonstrates how e-Learning can make a valuable
contribution as a stand-alone training method as well as a support mechanism for traditional classroom instruction.î

David Dawes concluded: ìI canít thank the SkillSoft team enough for the role they played in making this project such a success. They were open and flexible to our training
requirements from the outset and have provided ongoing help and support throughout.

ìIím confident that the massive success of this project will encourage other areas of the NHS to look more closely at implementing e-Learning.î
