The REC in conjunction with BERR has been testing a new interactive tool designed to help businesses decide if workers are entitled to the National Minimum wage (NMW).
The National Minimum Wage calculator which went live this week can check a workerís entitlement to NMW as well as any arrears that might be owed to them. From April 6 this year, employers could face a new financial penalty if they fail to pay their workers the NMW.
Fiona Coombe, the RECís Director of Professional Services, said: ìOur members do sometimes report difficulties in calculating NMW, for example when they have to make deductions for workersí travel. The REC therefore hopes this tool can be used to assist members in such circumstances.î
