iProfile becomes an industry standard

500k UK IT professionals now own an iProfile

TheSkillsMarket, the company that invented the iProfile, has just announced that 500k UK IT professionals now own an iProfile, making it a recognised standard within the IT recruitment industry.

The adoption of the iProfile has been rapid. Each month over 30,000 iProfiles are created for IT professionals and over the last year more than 20% of UK IT recruitment companies have made their database systems compatible with it.

The iProfile is a web-based CV that contains precise definitions of a candidateís skills, qualifications and job preferences in a format that allows recruitment companies to accurately process and search against candidate information.

Daniel Elkins, CEO of TheSkillsMarket, explained ìThe CV has been at the root cause of some of the recruitment industryís major inefficiencies for some time now and with increasing CV numbers this problem has just got worse. The traditional CV is presented in various formats and everybody uses different ways to describe their skills, which has meant recruitment companies have had to manually enter this information into their database as well as keyword search against it to match candidates to jobs. This is expensive for recruitment companies and also time consuming as keyword searching can return hundreds of candidates who arenít even relevant for the job.î

By introducing a standard format for the CV, the iProfile has allowed recruitment companies to:
Eliminate their manual data entry
Keep up-to-date with the skills & availability of their candidates
Deliver candidates to their clients in half the time

Within seconds of a candidate sending their CV to any iProfile Compatible Recruitment Company, the information within it gets automatically extracted to create them a basic iProfile. The candidate is then able to verify and update this information online and use the iProfile Skills Dictionary, which contains over 3,500 skills, to define their skills in even greater detail.
Ann Swain, Chief Executive of The Association of Technology Staffing Companies (ATSCo), commented: The iProfile is now a standard within the IT recruitment industry and has already been proven to save recruitment companiesí money as well as time and in doing so it's enabling the industry to focus on providing an even better quality of service. It won't be long until clients will be making it one of their pre-requisites for preferred suppliers.î
