Stephen Haddrill, Director General of the Association of British Insurers, has been appointed to a senior position with the UKís leading employment and HR experts, the Institute for Employment Studies (IES). Stephen will be Vice President and Chair of the IES board, taking over from Anne Minto OBE, Group Director Human Resources at Centrica. As Vice President, he will play a role in driving the IES mission of improving HR and employment practices in the UK.
With his previous experience as Director of Employment Relations and the Competitiveness Unit at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Stephen Haddrill has a strong insight into the role of HR in organisational success. As Director General of the DTIís Fair Markets Group he was responsible for developing frameworks for employment relations, company law and women and equality issues.
Stephen Haddrill said:

Stephen studied history and economics at Oxford University and joined the Department of Energy in 1978 where he held a number of posts, principally on nuclear issues and as Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Energy.
