Online identity experts Garlik and Jobsite, one of the UKís leading online recruiters, have joined forces to help protect jobseekers from online identity and financial fraud.
FraudAlert, an exciting new bespoke service produced by Garlik, uses cutting-edge technology to help Jobsite users protect themselves from identity theft and financial fraud. Officially launched on Monday 27 October, the new service will help jobhunters by:
Letting them know if their personal details (such as their name, address and email) appear on traded or compromised personal and financial data sources – providing them with advice on how to protect themselves
Alerting them if a Royal Mail re-direction has been placed upon the address that they registered – enabling them to remove the redirection if fraudulent and prevent any valuable documents or cards getting into the hands of the fraudster or identity thief.
FraudAlert is available to all Jobsite users who upload their CV for a 90 day free trial. At the end of this period users can sign up to FraudAlert for a further 12 months or upgrade to Garlikís more extensive solution DataPatrol – the most effective way to defend and protect an individualís personal, sensitive and financial information from misuse by identity and financial fraudsters.
Tom Ilube, CEO of Garlik, commented: ìAs identity and financial fraudsters continue to develop ever more sophisticated technology and methods to identify and defraud their victims, it is essential that consumers have the tools to protect themselves – both on and offline. Our work with Jobsite.co.uk will enable jobseekers to stay one step ahead of criminals.î
Keith Potts, MD of Jobsite UK, said ìWe have over 3 million candidates and one of the largest CV databases in Europe so one of our top priorities is to continually protect all jobseekers using Jobsite. Our new partnership with Garlik provides our jobseekers with the option for another layer of protection.
ìWe would also like to remind all jobseekers to think carefully about the information they store on their CVs and exclude highly confidential information – such as passport numbers, bank details, national insurance numbers and their date of birth – as this could potentially increase the risk of identify fraud both on and offline.î
Garlikís semantic web technology – specifically DataPatrol – searches through more than four billion web pages, millions of public records and commercial databases to defend and protect an individualsí personal and financial information. The technology uses a platform which can both locate data and understand its context.
