Derwent opens office in Hong Kong

Executive search and selection firm, Derwent Executive, today announced that its expansion into Asia is ahead of schedule, with the firm having opened a new office in Hong Kong. Derwentís Managing Director Asia, Chris Adams, said the progress has been pleasing, with the Singapore and Hong Kong offices now both fully functional six months ahead of schedule.

ìOur progress has been pleasing. We opened our Singapore office in July and already have a team of 7 professionals providing high end executive search and selection recruitment services in the banking/ financial services and HR markets. In Hong Kong, we have a team of 4 professionals, having commenced operations last week.î

Adams said the feedback from clients has been very encouraging, and while there is a flow of work coming from Derwentís Australian client base, the firm has already developed local client relationships in both markets. Adams said Derwentís first priority was to cement its presence in Singapore and Hong Kong but is continuing to assess other markets to expand its network.

ìWe are looking at new locations in Asia, but our first priority is to build the teams in our two existing markets. There is a significant flow of work in both centres and this is our immediate priority. Our focus remains on banking/ financial services, IT&T and commerce sectors.î
