On 5th September 2007, business managers will converge on Sheffield to apply the latest research on coaching and mentoring, managing diversity and developing sales and marketing behaviour to their business strategies.

Keynote speaker Tony White, Managing Director (Europe) of Earth Tech, a global organisation supporting clients in consulting, engineering, construction and facilities will be talking about the challenges facing his company ñ and what theyíre doing to create business infrastructure to respond to those challenges.

There will be a series of workshops covering a wide range of issues, including coaching for performance; an integral approach to individual and organisational development and maximising sales and marketing to name a few.

Got a problem to explore?
Paul Stokes of organisers Sheffield Hallam University's Centre for Individual and Organisational Development (CIOD) will be running a live coaching session as part of the conference. Heíll be asking for a volunteer to talk about a real workplace issue in a public forum ñ and will use the opportunity to explore how specialist coaching could help them tackle it.

ìCoaching can be a really helpful tool in dealing with individual and organisational change,î said Paul, ìand weíre hoping the conference session will enable people to see how it works and how it might be useful for them. It will give people a chance to observe how the coach approaches the issues, how the other person responds, and how the techniques used can help you to explore the problem and possible solutions.
