In the wake of recent tragic events ñ todayís high school shooting in Cleveland, and the traumatic shooting in Wisconsin earlier this week ñ Americans across the nation will be joining those directly affected in struggling with strong and overwhelming emotions while trying to make sense of these tragedies.
In response to the emotional aftermath of such tragic events, ACI Specialty Benefits offers CISD (Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) to employers nationwide and around the globe. ACI believes that if prompt trauma intervention is provided at the onset of the crisis, damaging long term effects can be minimized and employees will be better equipped to return to their daily work routine.
CISD is designed to help individuals, groups, or entire organizations cope with the difficult, overwhelming and/or stressful emotions associated with critical incidents such as workplace or school violence, untimely deaths, accidents, robberies, random crime and other traumas. CISD helps mitigate acute post-traumatic symptoms, assess the need for follow-up, and if possible, provide a sense of post-crisis psychological closure.
To speak with any of ACIís expert clinicians or counselors regarding post-traumatic emotions at the workplace, especially in regards to the Cleveland High School shooting, please feel free to contact media relations manager, Laura McDermott, at 800-932-0034 ext. 207 or lmcdermott@acieap.com.
