Leadership development consultancy, the Centre for High Performance Development (CHPD), has been bought by Capital H Group, a Chicago-based human capital consulting firm.
Co-founder and executive chairman of CHPD, Chris Parry, explained that the deal, which was signed on 22 October 2007, is part of the long term plan for the business: ìWe always knew that to grow the business in the long term, we would need a partner to help with expansion. We now want to move into a new stage of more radical growth and are very excited about the prospects for both employees and clients.î
Capital H Group, is an expert in strategy clarification and alignment, organisation effectiveness and talent management. Last month (September 2007), Capital H Group was ranked 134 on Inc Magazine’s list of the 500 fastest-growing privately-held companies in the United States.
Greg Silich, chief operating officer of Capital H Group, said: ìWe are very excited about our future together. CHPD has an excellent reputation and a stellar client list of over 100 organisations worldwide. Their database of more than 10,000 leadership profiles is recognised as one of the foremost benchmarking tools for developing future leaders. Most organisations today recognise that effective leadership is absolutely critical to their success, so the market opportunity for leadership development services is huge.î
Julia Payne, chief executive of CHPD, said: ìBeing part of Capital H Group gives us access to new products and new markets which will help us grow the business and service our clients even more effectively. Our expertise and research has focused on the area of leadership development, from first line manager up to CEO, while Capital H Group has a greater offering in the areas managing change, HR processes and recruitment strategies, so the two organisations will complement each other very well.î
Co-founders of CHPD Tony Cockerill and Chris Parry will remain in the business under the new parent company. Chris Parry continues her role as executive chairman and Dr Tony Cockerill continues his non-executive role with a focus on new business and research.
CHPD will continue to operate under its name as a division of Capital H Group. Efforts to broadly introduce CHPDís offerings in the U.S. are planned for next year.
