Some of the UKís biggest employers will attend a conference on Tuesday aimed at helping them to meet their internship and graduate recruitment requirements. Best of Both Worlds: Achieving Mutual Benefits from Internships has been organised by Nottingham Trent University and is being held at BioCity, Nottingham.
The conference will feature a range of presentations on placement experiences, advice on setting up a placement opportunity, and a question and answer session. Nottingham Trent University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Neil Gorman, will introduce the event which includes delegates from major employers such as Boots, Britvic Soft Drinks, McCain Foods Ltd, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Nottingham City Homes and the Royal Air Force. Representatives from small and medium sized independent companies will also be attending.
Paul Hacking, Head of Careers Service at the university, said: ìOffering internships to students as a preparation for the world of work is one of the key strategic aims of this university. The conference will highlight successful case studies as a way of encouraging new employers to host placements.î
He added: ìOne of the reasons Nottingham Trent University is so popular with students and parents is because of its excellent track record of offering high quality internships, which is a major factor contributing to the employability of its graduates.î
