Alumni has a speedy but rigorous screening process and only takes on candidates who get through the companyís four stage evaluation process which includes a CV screen, an initial interview, completion of a Sales Competency Evaluation test and a more lengthy detailed consultation with an experienced consultant. The company has also invested in state of the art techmology systems that enable it to grade candidates, evaluate assements and add good candidates onto its database swiftly. These processes are used in place of the gimmicky assessment days used by other graduate recruiters that often involve singing songs and wearing fancy dress but bear little in common with scientific sales assessment.
Duffy explained; ìIt is clear that the skills involved in selling technical solutions into engineering or R & D departments are vastly different to those used in selling copiers to SMEís and broad brush assessment days, although they have a place in the market , are often not the best way to identify the more subtle skills that may deem an applicant suitable for sales within a more technical environment.î
