Accountants become more assertive!

Birmingham Repertory Theatre in Centenary Square became host to 150 accountants this week, all looking for the answers on how to become more assertive

Birmingham Repertory Theatre in Centenary Square became host to 150 accountants this week, all looking for the answers on how to become more assertive.

But this was not a new show at the theatre; it was the first in a brand new series of interactive training events for accountants from throughout the Midlands.

The seminar, sponsored by leading financial recruitment specialists Martin Ward Anderson, and in conjunction with CIMA (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), was the first of its type to be held in the Midlands, with attendees coming from throughout the region.

Alan Matthews of www.trainofthoughtcourses.com was guest speaker and addressed the audience on how to become more assertive, a better communicator in the boardroom and an influential player.

His background as a Tax Advisor and his current role as an independent Training Consultant enabled him to hold the audience's attention and his hour-long presentation was an insight to attendees on how accountants have in fact moved on in a bid to satisfy their clientsí requirements for better interpersonal skills.

Helen Marshall, manger of Martin Ward Anderson in Birmingham commented, We are absolutely delighted with the success of our first training event here in Birmingham.

The over subscribed numbers confirm that there is a real requirement for this type of event to take place, and we have a number of further events already planned, including a ìHow to Network effectivelyî.

The quality that Alan portrayed as a speaker were first class and his clear affinity with the accountancy profession was a real factor in the success of the seminar.

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants is a leading membership body that offers an internationally recognised professional qualification in management, which focuses on accounting for business.
