50skills has raised $6 million to expand its AI platform for HR workflows, with the round co-led by Frumtak Ventures, Swiss Post Ventures, Avant and DRD Investments.
The Reykjavík company said it will use the funding to hire across sales, marketing and community, and to develop AI agents that work alongside HR teams. Its platform connects processes such as onboarding, employee requests, approvals, contracts and background checks to employers' existing systems. HR teams can describe a process in plain language, while staff retain oversight of decisions requiring judgement.
50skills said more than four million actions have been completed on the platform over the past 12 months. It cited Icelandair, which has digitised more than 20 HR workflows, and Air Atlanta, which it says saves 50 hours a week on visa processing. These are company-reported customer outcomes.
In the company’s 24 September press release, 50skills co-founder and CEO Kristján Freyr Kristjánsson said:
“We are building the operating system for people workflows, where HR teams design the experience they want for their employees and the platform runs it.”
He said the challenge is balancing repeatable workflows, AI interpretation and human oversight, with governance and security throughout.
Founded in Iceland, 50skills has an office in Stockholm and customers across the Nordics and UK. Its products include Hire, an applicant tracking system, and Journeys, its people-process platform.
