RateMyPlacement.co.uk is delighted to announce the employers, universities and students that have been shortlisted for the inaugural RateMyPlacement National Placement & Internship Awards.
Sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers and supported by The Independent, the Awards are designed to recognise and reward those employers, universities and students who provide and contribute to excellence within work experience for undergraduates in the UK.
The Awards recognise the growing emphasis on the importance of work experience and what makes the event unique is that for the first time, the decisions on who is successful are being largely determined by the thoughts and opinions of those who know best – the students who have been there and done it. Using the unique RateMyPlacement database of over 2,500 student-written reviews on their experiences with employers, plus entries and nominations, the shortlists have been compiled and the winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony at Oxford Brookes University on 21st January 2010.
Highlighted Awards include the headline ‘Best Placement & Internship Employer (over 250 employees)’, ‘Best New Provider of Work Experience’ and ‘Best University Placement/Careers Service’. Employers in the running for an Award include some of the largest student recruiters such as Grant Thornton, IBM, Barclays Capital and Microsoft through to smaller organisations such as ProspectSoft and Golfbreaks.com.
