AllTheTopBananas boosts video CVs by acquiring D7recruitment.co.uk

Jobs search engine AllTheTopBananas.com has made a significant investment into video CVs by buying a leading provider website.

The firm has bought D7recruitment.co.uk in a private deal, and will be integrating it into existing operations immediately.

The deal increases the number of video CVs available to AllTheTopBananas.com's rapidly increasing total audience reach of more than 5 million unique users

Dave Martin, MD of AllTheTopBananas.com, said there is a very healthy future in video CVs and the company has been looking for an investment opportunity.

He said: For younger job seekers the buzz is very much about online video ñ just look at the popularity of YouTube.



Videos CVs are very popular in the States and we are going to see a boom in popularity here. I believe they will become a key way for recruiters in specific industries to save time short listing candidates. You can get a much better feel for a candidate from a 60 second video CV than you can a two page document.

Dave added: The key will be making it easy for jobseekers to record them and get them in front of recruiters. Our acquisition of D7recruitment.co.uk will help us offer these services to a much wider audience.

AllTheTopBananas.com already hosts video CVs for jobseekers using the latest Silverlight technology from Microsoft. The acquisition will add a significant number of video CVs to its website.

It will also give a significant amount of help to job seekers to put a video CV together, using a video camera, web cam or mobile phone.

The acquisition fits with AllTheTopBananas.com's mission to be the most helpful job site in the UK.

It collects and displays jobs from hundreds of partner websites across the UK. Each site in the Banana network also allows job seekers to upload CVs and register for job updates.

AllTheTopBananas.com currently has 218,654 jobs online.
