Februaryís Bank of Scotland Labour Market Report indicates that Scottish job market conditions weakened slightly in February, with subdued growth of demand for permanent staff contributing to a further easing in pay pressures. Although the growth of permanent staff appointments slowed to a seventeen-month low, temp billings increased at its sharpest pace for three months.
The report's labour market barometer fell for the eighth consecutive month to 54.2, from 55.3 in January, its lowest level for just over four years. However, the index was again above the equivalent barometer for the wider UK job market.
