The Internet Group named as the best place to work in IT Services, 2008

The Internet Group, a provider of IT support and consultancy services to the UK recruitment industry, has been named as the Best Place to Work in IT Services, 2008. The awards, run by prestigious IT title Computer Weekly, are awarded to organisations that provide demonstrably excellent training, career development and work environments. Other winners included Sainsburyís, Proctor & Gamble and Yorkshire Water.

The Internet Group has built on their inaugural nomination in 2007 to further develop their employee proposition. New initiatives launched by the group and commended by the awarding judges included a company share scheme, childcare vouchers, and a number of environmental initiatives including electric pool cars and the adoption of ethically and environmentally responsible solutions to dispose old computer hardware. Other major steps taken include the rolling out of a flexible benefits policy, which suits the diverse make-up of the company, and the launch of an employee mentoring programme.
