Browne Jacobson triumphs at legal HR awards

Leading Midlands law firm Browne Jacobson has won a national award for its graduate recruitment programme.

Browne Jacobson beat off competition from a raft of national and international law firms including Berwin Leighton Paisner, DLA Piper, Nabarro, DMH Stallard and Weil Gotshal & Manges when it picked up the Graduate Recruitment Campaign of the Year Award at The Lawyer HR Awards 2008 in London on Tuesday 12 February.

The judges praised the firmís campaign, which was led by Philippa Shorthouse, Zena Comrie and Jemma Jackson, for increasing student awareness levels and the number of applications from local universities as well as focusing on getting the firm's brand known throughout the Midlands.

The award, judged by a panel of HR experts, praises schemes which have achieved their objectives in the following areas:

the number of applicants
the aptitude of applicants
the range of educational institutions
the diversity of applicant backgrounds
The Lawyer HR Awards aims to celebrate excellence and best practice in the effective use of HR strategy.

In recent years Browne Jacobson has been presented with a number of awards including Nottingham Law Society ìTrainee Solicitor of the Yearî in 2006 & 2007 and Assistant Solicitor of the Year at the Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards 2007.
