SmartPost, the innovative online job posting product from Bernard Hodes Group, today announced the expansion of its e-media network with hundreds of new local website properties across the country. With a concentrated effort to increase its local market presence, SmartPost now offers customers more opportunity to solicit local response and gain visibility around their job vacancies. This in turn allows these experienced and valuable workers the ability to remain in their current communities where their skills are eagerly needed.
ìOur client adoption rate for using local websites within their recruiting strategies has increased drastically over the last year,î said Carmen Doherty, director of SmartPost. ìWeíve worked hard to add local resources that help companies not only get better response rates for candidates that reside in their own cities, but also to help them reduce relocation costs that have become prohibitive for many.î
Among the new sites in the SmartPost library is SignOnSanDiego, the online property run by The San Diego Union-Tribune. SignOnSanDiego.com reaches 32 percent of all San Diego County adults and 42 percent of the countyís total adult internet user population.
ìAlthough our site users are predominantly young, affluent, educated professionals with a wide range of information needs and interests, we have significant penetration across all age and lifestyle groups,î said Keith Bland, employment sales manager at SignOnSanDiego. ìPartnering with SmartPost allows us the opportunity to spread our message to not only the local employers who use SmartPost every day, but for other companies wishing to target our highly skilled workers in other parts of the country.î
Also added is Kijiji (pronounced key-gee-gee and owned by eBay) which is a group of free, local, community-based classified websites which first launched in 2005 in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, China, Japan, Taiwan, Austria, Switzerland, and India. Today, Kijiji reports over 17 million users across these markets and added Belgium, Turkey, and the United States in 2007.
