Stars in Our Eyes, Lloyds TSBís annual staff reward and recognition event, has been honoured at this yearís UK Eventia Awards.

The event was named Best UK Staff Incentive & Motivational Event at a prestigious award ceremony held at Londonís Hurlingham Club. The Eventia Awards celebrate the most creative, inspirational and innovative events staged in the UK during 2007.

Stars in Our Eyes is the flagship reward event of Lloyds TSBís unique People as A Competitive Edge (PACE) programme. Through its PACE programme Lloyds TSB recognizes the essential role of its staff in providing a competitive business advantage and aims to ensure that the valuable contributions made by staff across the group are acknowledged and rewarded.

The three day event brings together 1,000 employees, each recognized for delivering first class service to their customers. Partners are also invited to join the winning staff to share a weekend of VIP treatment. This year, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay created a sumptuous five course banquet and entertainment was provided by chart-topping bands The Sugababes and McFly. Directors from across the retail bank joined the headlines acts, as Lloyds TSBís very own girl and boy band took to the stage.

Producing an event of this scale requires a great deal of behind the scenes activity and with our partner Conference Connections, I am delighted that this work has been recognized with these awards.î

Other highlights of the 2007 event included a Pirates of the Caribbean themed party and a London 2012 Olympics focused business session featuring John Inverdale, Lord Sebastian Coe and Daley Thompson. Planning is already underway for the 2008 event.

In November the Lloyds TSB scheme also swept the board at the 18th annual Questar Awards in New York, winning both Gold & Silver in the Employee Motivation category and a bronze award in the Employee Recognition category. Stars in our Eyes was also honoured with an overall Grand award, selected from all of the Gold winners.

The awards were received in recognition of the Stars in Our Eyes ñ Behind the Scenesí DVD which Lloyds TSB commissioned to capture the excitement and scale of the event. The film followed the journey of staff over the course of the weekend and included access all areas footage of the gala evening. Events agency, Conference Connections, developed a second film for the bank entitled ìStars in Our Eyes - Have you got what it takes? This film is currently used as an engagement tool to drive awareness of the scheme across the bank and encourage entries for Stars in our Eyes 2008.
