The independent research and publications organisation Labour Research Department (LRD) has published its first Polish-language employment rights guide.
The 24-page guide Prawo w pracy ñ twoje uprawnienia (Law at work ñ know your rights) has been published in response to requests from trade unions for information on employment rights for their Polish members.
The guide sets out workersí key employment rights in the UK including their right to join a trade union. It provides information on: agency workers; contracts of employment; pay; maternity leave and pay; working parents and carers; disciplinary and grievance procedures; health and safety; and discrimination.
Last year the LRD was commissioned to produce a series of workersí rights leaflets in Polish by the GMB general unionís southern region. Several major unions expressed a need for something similar and the LRD has produced the 24-page Prawo w pracy ñ twoje uprawnienia (Law at work ñ know your rights) to meet the demand.
