ìAs suggested by todayís Equal Opportunities Commission report more needs to be done to encourage flexible working in the UK. Flexible working carries a wide range of benefits for both employer and employee. Many of the UKís 29 million strong work-force would benefit from spending less time and money on travel and being able to carry out their job in an environment that works for them. For parents struggling to cope with the demands of a job and children it can free up a precious few extra hours to get those vital jobs done. From an employerís point of view a happy, less stressed employee can only be a good thing and will encourage company loyalty, plus there are considerable benefits around productivity levels.î
