Leeds recruitment specialist Search Consultancy has made it easier for employers to hire staff from EU countries by bringing in a Polish native to iron out problems associated with appointing staff from Eastern European countries.

Dominika Horowiec, who has worked in UK recruitment for three years, has been employed at Searchís Leeds office for the past six months and deals solely with recruits from other European countries who wish to work in the UK.

A rise in European workers in the UK in the last six months has meant that recruitment consultants need specialist knowledge to offer employers the best possible candidates.

Having moved to the UK herself and experienced first-hand the British recruitment system, Dominika can provide a unique solution to working with overseas employees.

Dominika speaks to potential employees to ascertain the English language skills required for each role. She also provides assistance in collating all the correct documentation for European workers such as the worker registration scheme form and national insurance requirements for the UK.

Dominika said: ìIt is increasingly useful for both candidates and our clients that I can speak Polish and have a full knowledge of what is required from both sides when an employer hires someone from Eastern Europe.î

Dominika predicted that her experience of the UK recruitment market will become increasingly useful with the volume of European workers coming to the UK.

She said: ìWe work with all our recruits to make sure they have the correct paper work and are ready to start work in the UK. We will also speak to them about bank accounts and national insurance so they understand everything that is required.

ìThis approach is helpful to employers because it takes the pressure off them to make sure everything is above board.

ìIn many ways our involvement makes it easier for employers to take on European workers because we do the ground work for them. We have placed many European workers, particularly Polish workers, in industrial jobs, call centres and construction roles.î
