Ever wondered about your public image or wanted to improve it? Comedy company, The Spontaneity Shop (www.the-spontaneity-shop.com), has improvisation techniques that can make its customers win friends and influence people by being more charismatic. And, with its new open workshops, people can gain that much needed element of spontaneity in their lives.
For years, The Spontaneity Shop has been shaking up bankers, advertisers, hotel managers and other professionals with its improvisation exercises designed to develop creativity, spontaneity, communication and presentation skills. Now, it is offering open workshops in London for professional people who want to gain more charisma.
Most people assume charisma is something you either have or donít, explains head trainer, Deborah Frances-White, also a successful stand-up comedian and writer. But you can be charismatic without being very tall, tremendously good-looking or wildly rich and successful. Charismatic people behave in a charismatic way, and behaviour is something which can be taught and practised.
With a theatrical background providing insights into how to encourage different behaviours in different people, combined with experience in the corporate world, The Spontaneity Shop began modelling the behaviour of famously charismatic individuals such as George Clooney, Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and Dawn French. The secrets turn out to be surprisingly simple - but putting them into practice reliably takes work with a sensitive coach.
Some people are going to find the process easier than others, continues Deborah, just like some people have more of a sense of rhythm than others. But anyone can take a dance class and get better at dancing. In the same way, anyone can attend our íCharisma Keyí workshop and gain more impact. The important thing is to remove the fear that is generated in stressful situations such as job interviews, presentations or negotiations. That is our particular specialism.
The first íOpen Charisma Keyí workshop will be held in Euston at the end of March 2007, with further workshops taking place monthly. The cost is 295 plus VAT for a full day.
