The New Life Network career portal, newlifenetwork.co.uk, has recently undergone a major revamp in response to visitor demand.
Early visitors to the New Life website will know that it was inspired by Andrew Taylorís ëAftershockí column in the Appointments Section of The Sunday Times about the trials and tribulations of rebuilding executive and professional careers after redundancy.
Since its initial launch in September 2005, however, the number of visitors has grown substantially month on month, developing to accommodate a much broader audience than had previously been envisaged. Essentially anyone who is at a career crossroads, for whatever reason, finds the site invaluable for researching new life directions ñ all in one very convenient place.
Founder and Editor, Janet Davies, says ìThe New Life site is a pretty unique one-stop-shop that enables anyone who is looking to do something different to do just that. People seem to like it because we donít have a specific agenda to channel people down any one particular route. They can find out how to get a new job, get promoted, get headhunted, set up in business, have a grown up gap year, become an interim manager or train to be a plumber if thatís what they fancy doing.î
She adds ìThe internet is a fantastic resource but you can spend literally days and days trawling through it to find what you really need. If a recruiter site, job board or business start-up site doesnít rank highly on the search engines, people might not even find the hidden gems that will really help them.
Thatís why we only feature the sites, insider tips, news articles, books and career events that add real value so our visitors can start building their new lives quickly, easily and with confidence. Every website listed in the directories has a short review attached so they can assess quickly if it is actually worth a visit or not, and download free ëhow toí guides, example CVís, job application tracking tools, industry research and salary surveys. We have much better tracking now too that enables us to see exactly what people are really interested inî.
