Recruitment industry plough through the snow

As much of Britain stayed in bed on Thursday, those of us in the recruitment industry trooped on, according to Broadbean Technology

As much of Britain stayed in bed on Thursday, those of us in the recruitment industry trooped on, according to Broadbean Technology, multi poster to over half of the UKís top 100 recruitment agencies.

Their latest statistics show nearly 50 thousand job adverts posted on a day that saw the rest of the country literally snowed under.

As schools closed and thousands called in, unable to face the disrupted commute, the British Chambers of Commerce estimated that that the ìsevere weather conditionsî may cost the economy up to 400 Million.

With up to 15cm of snow some experts warned employees to stay at home, though workers in the recruitment industry refused to promote such a defeatist attitude. Broadbean continued business as usual on Thursday despite being situated in the Docklands, a staggering 62 mile commute for some of their dedicated staff.

Broadbean, who posted over 8 million adverts on behalf of clients last year, are not surprised at the zest shown by recruiters, as even on Christmas day, some of their clients continue to post.
