Over 90 per cent of the UK workforce will not receive a Christmas bonus this year, according to the latest poll of 1,200 employees by leading national staffing services company, Select Appointments.
Although not many companies are paying out bonuses this Christmas, results from a related poll by Select show that UK businesses are providing staff incentives in another way this year, with 37 per cent of employers closing for a week or more over the festive period.
Sandy Jarrett, Strategy Support Manager at Select Appointments, said: ìWith work / life balance becoming increasingly important to employees, companies are looking for new ways to motivate staff, aside from financial rewards. Longer holidays give families more time to spend together, which is one of the most important parts of Christmas for many people.î
