Enterprise Week 2006

A national celebration of enterprise to inspire young people to make their ideas happen

The UKís biggest celebration of enterprise, Enterprise Week will take place this year from 13 -19 November.

Enterprise Week is co-ordinated by the Make Your Mark ñ start talking ideas campaign: the first national campaign of its kind to kick-start a culture of enterprise among young people in the UK.

Last year, the week was a huge success, with an incredible 408,000 people attending 2,215 events across the UK which were run by 722 different organisations helped by 3,874 businesses. Highlights included the Make Your Mark Challenge, a competition which involved over 11,000 pupils from schools across the UK, and the annual Enterprising Young Brits competition, which acknowledges and rewards both business and social entrepreneurship.

The Make Your Mark- start talking ideas campaign aims to give people in their teens and twenties the inspiration and opportunity to make their ideas happen. By 2008 the campaign aims to double the number of young people who aspire to run their own venture.
