Recruiters Forecasting Explosive Executive Job Growth

With the unemployment rate falling to a four and a half year low and the economy on track for robust first-quarter growth

With the unemployment rate falling to a four and a half year low and the economy on track for robust first-quarter growth, ExecuNetís Recruiters Confidence Index (RCI) remains at all time highs, as those on the front lines of the job market expect the demand for executive talent to soar in the months ahead.

Introduced in May 2003, the Recruiters Confidence Index (RCI) is based on a monthly survey of executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet, the leading executive job search and recruiting network.

According to the survey of 145 executive recruiters, 76% are confident or very confident that the executive employment market will improve during the next six months ñ down slightly from a thirteen-month high of 79% in January. During this period of time, the search industry is expecting a 27% increase in the number of assignments received from corporate clients.

ìNew job listings at ExecuNet are up over twenty percent year-to-date as hiring plans remain robust at the executive level,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìWith the job market of 1999-2000 still fresh in their minds, corporate recruiters are becoming increasingly concerned about the implications of a shortage of talent.î

To prepare for sustained growth in the employment market, 55% of all search firms have plans to hire additional professional staff in the next three months ñ a significant increase over the number of executive recruiting firms that have added professional staff during the past three months (32%).
