OpenHand bolsters its channel program with new appointments

Reseller package introduced to help channel create new business opportunities and improve client retention

OpenHand has bolstered its channel programme with the appointment of five new regional dealer managers and the introduction of a new reseller package designed to help channel partners improve client retention, and develop new business. These moves reflect the critical contribution that reseller partners will play as OpenHand introduces a raft of new services aimed at the SoHo and SME sectors to complement its existing corporate Enterprise product..

Each of the new appointments brings a wealth of experience and expertise to OpenHand, and will play a critical role in the expansion of the reseller programme and the drive to recruit new channel partners. The new package provides resellers with attractive financial awards, either as an ongoing revenue-share on a wholesale or bureau basis, or as an upfront payment based on the successful mobile phone subsidisation model. The new channel programme also provides resellers with white label literature, website and e-commerce options along with training and marketing assistance.

OpenHand has an appealing proposition for potential reseller partners. Its software is network-agnostic and compatible with more than 200 handsets, including market-leading smart-phones and PDAs, enabling resellers to offer SoHo, SME and corporate customers a more competitive package. OpenHand also structures its relationships with customers in a way that means resellers are less likely to lose customers to network operators when client contracts reach their anniversary dates.

ìThe appointment of the regional dealer managers coupled with the new reseller package provide a solid foundation from which to expand our channel programme. We anticipate that a significant percentage of our business will come through our channel over the coming years. We are well placed to address the growing demand for mobile email among the SoHo and SME sectors and are confident that we will attract many new reseller partners as a result of the initiatives announced today,î said Tim Belfall, Chief Operating Officer, OpenHand Software Ltd.

ìThe pace and adoption of mobile email is such that it is now a necessary business tool for businesses of all sizes. The channel is well placed to meet the needs and expectations of many SoHo and SME companies. With the right product and support, channel partners can develop a successful line of value-added business services,î he added.
