The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a professional association and educator in talent management strategies, and Sage Software, a leading provider of business management software and services for small and mid-sized companies, including the Sage Abra HRMS product line, announced today that Sage Software will sponsor HCI’s Small and Midsize Business learning and research track. The track is one of several topics addressed in HCI’s Talent Solutions community of interest, a community HCI considers essential to organizations working to leverage human capital.
The spotlight is often on the talent acquisition, development, and retention challenges faced by large organizations, said Allan Schweyer, HCI’s Executive Director. But small and mid-sized businesses also confront many human capital management issues. We’re pleased Sage Software, a company focused on HR and payroll solutions for small and mid-sized businesses and organizations, will fund this track aimed at addressing the specialized and unique talent management needs of these organizations.
In their efforts to grow and prosper, small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) encounter many human capital management challenges similar to large organizations, but often do not have the same level of depth or resources to address them.
In sponsoring Human Capital Institute’s educational efforts, we are able to help educate small and mid-sized businesses on ways they can improve their talent-management processes and practices, said Ray Jimison, senior vice president and general manager, Specialized Business Solutions at Sage Software. Powerful technology solutions exist for companies with growing workforces and specific needs and challenges. It is excellent that HCI has created a learning track just for them.
Added Schweyer, With SMBs currently accounting for half of all job growth in North America and two-thirds of job growth in Europe, it is imperative that they address issues related to talent management. Their importance to the economies of both North America and Europe is enormous. What’s more, SMBs are the main source of innovation in many industries.
The Small and Midsize Business track will explore viable, powerful, and effective talent management technologies and processes tools and systems essential to SMB success. The focus will be on affordable, highly practical, and user-friendly technology. The Thought Leader panel participating in the track will also examine processes and best practices that are unbureaucratic, value-driven, cost effective, and geared to meet both current and future objectives. Webcasts, white papers, education, and other resources are aimed at providing human capital professionals with information to effectively manage talent. Panelists include:
- Howard Adamsky, President, HR Innovators;
- Tom Tillman, Director of Product Mmarketing for Sage Abra HRMS, Sage Software;
- Bill McKeown, Manager of Staffing, Republic Windows & Doors, Inc.;
- Ray Schreyer, Pprogram Manager of Internet Recruiting, IBM Talent Recruitment; and
- Kim Shepherd, President, Decision Toolbox
