If you thought you were having trouble developing a response to MSN Messenger usage in the office, consider the latest development in mobile technology.
A group of technology leaders including Intel, Nokia, Motorola and Texas Instruments have formed something called the Mobile DTV Alliance.
The aim of this alliance is to develop íDigital Video Broadcasting - Handheld (DVB-H)í. In real language what they are saying is that they want to allow your staff to view TV programs on their mobile phone.
Now thereís a frightening thought!.
Itís hard enough to get people to pay attention in meetings as it is, what with the constant interruptions from SMS messaging and actual phone calls. íExcuse me a second, just stepping outside to take this call. Please go on without meí. And so on.
What chance do we have competing for attention against TV?
This needs a policy. It really needs a policy.
