FEcareers.co.uk the specialist Further Education job site has launched four new niche websites to add to their portfolio. The four websites target the Work Based Learning sector and have made a dramatic increase to both visiting candidates and new advertisers. Within a week of launching the websites FE Careers saw a 20% increase in visiting candidates and they have a 50% increase from training providers and specialist recruiters who want to advertise on the specialist Further Education website.
The new websites have been developed due to FE Careers marketing partnerships with the Association of Learning Providers (ALP), the Institute of Assessors and Verifiers (IAV) and the Association of External Verifiers (AEV).
The Managing Director of FE Careers explains the strategy behind the website launches: FE Careers specialises in advertising vacancies across the whole Further Education sector. A recent report by Sir Andrew Foster called Further Education the overlooked third child in the education sector; we have seen that Work Based Learning (S/ NVQ’s, Apprenticeships, Basic Skills etc) has a distinct lack of professional support services compared to the rest of education. So we decided to widen our portfolio of advertising services for Work Based Learning.
Since FE Careers launch in 2004 we have always had great success at attracting work based learning specialists. We decided to spread our portfolio due to feedback from Work Based Learning job seekers about where Assessors, Internal Verifiers and Tutors look for their next career move. Our feedback was surprising: Work Based Learning job seekers did not feel that they had a dedicated media source to look for job roles nationally. This was backing up Sir Andrew Foster’s overlooked middle child theory, especially as Work Based Learning is often overlooked in FE let alone in wider education.
So we launched Training Provider jobs and Vocational jobs to attract candidates for our Learning Provider advertisers, especially our advertisers who are members of the ALP. We then developed two more sites powered by FE Careers to provide a dedicated service for S / NVQ Assessors and Tutors through Assessor jobs and Tutor jobs.co.uk
Within the first week of launching the four niche sites, we have had a dramatic increase in visitors and clients interested in advertising.
FE Careers are awaiting the long to medium term results of these website launches in Work Based Learning before they further spread their wings in other areas of Further Education. Watch this space to see what comes next for FE Careers.
