Actonomy, the Belgian based software company, has announced the next generation matching platform, xMP to enhance the matching process between jobs and resumes. xMP is fundamentally different than traditional matching platforms as it takes into account the behaviour of both the candidate and the recruiter while searching for a job.
Traditional search or match solutions are based on keyword search or matching of structured data. The reality is however that users are forced to select one of the criteria that are specified and in case of no match, they are forced to try another criteria until the expected result is reached. Behavioural matching includes the overall behaviour of users while searching/matching to provide better results in a single pass.
ìThe goal of behavioural matching is to include the way users are selecting criteria or keywords while searching and to learn from it to enhance future search actions.î, says Filip De Geijter, CEO Actonomy. ìAlthough ëbehaviouralí is referring to the behaviour of the user while searching, this technology is in particular interesting to deal with subjective criteria such as competencies.î
The new concept is realised by storing all this information in rich knowledge networks (ontologies) that are combined with the fuzzy matching core of the existing Actonomy xMP platform. The result is a combination of a high performance fuzzy matching engine with semantic and user behaviour based concepts that are used to dynamically enhance the system.
ìThe concept of keeping track of user attitude is known in online applications, but is fundamentally different than what is used by xMPî, says Filip De Geijter, ìxMP is using context and semantics to enrich the action which is then used to steer the matching/searching engine. Although it could be used to suggest results (based on statistics of other users), it is an integral part of the matching process.î.
ìAlthough the technology is a unique combination of different Actonomy building blocks, the main goal is to provide faster and better services to both candidates and recruiters.î, says Filip De Geijter, CEO Actonomy.
Actonomy xMP is available as a toolkit for rapid integration in existing environments. It is available as a Java based platform that integrates with any existing relational database. xMP is available as a layer integrated with the application or as a webservice called by the application.
