Harris Rothenberg to Speak on Flexible Work Arrangements at WorldatWork Total Rewards Conference

Employers gain more than employee loyalty with comprehensive flexible work programs

Harris, Rothenberg International (HRI), LLC, a global performance management company, has been selected to speak at the WorldatWork Total Rewards Conference & Exhibition 2006 being held in Anaheim, CA, May 7-10, 2006.

Bernadette Fusaro, Director of Work/Life Services for HRI, will co-present a workshop titled, Flexible Work Arrangements: A Low-Cost, High-Impact Employee Incentive on May 8, 2006 at 3:15 PM. The workshop will explore why implementing a comprehensive program for flexible work arrangements goes beyond simply generating employee loyalty.

Implementing a comprehensive program for flexible work arrangements is a low-cost, high-impact addition to a company’s total rewards offerings. Industry research indicates that the vast majority of job-seekers are looking for career opportunities in flexible, supportive workplaces. Independent surveys have shown that employees who work flexible hours score higher on resilience, leadership, and commitment over their nine-to-five colleagues.

Developing a policy is not enough, explained Fusaro. Flexibility requires a change in company culture starting with the implementation of a program that identifies the steps you need to take to ensure a successful flexible work arrangements program.

The presentation will include a case-study of a flexible work arrangements program from a world-renowned publication house. Attendees will walk away from the session learning how and why to construct a business case for flexible work arrangements, how to proactively address common manager concerns about such a program, and what to include in company guidelines and training programs regarding flexible work arrangement programs.
