Ernst & Young Will Survey HR Executives With Human Capital Institute

.

The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a professional association and educator in talent management strategies, and Ernst & Young, a international tax and consulting firm, announced today that the two organizations will conduct a study to determine whether employers are responding to the aging of their workforces and, if so, what measures they are taking.

The results of the Ernst & Young/Human Capital Institute Aging Workforce Survey will be released in a report, available in late January 2006.

As the workforce ages, there are new challenges for organizations, said Allan Schweyer, HCI’s Executive Director. This survey and resulting report will provide insight into how organizations are addressing the various issues unique to older workers and help businesses make better decisions with regard to this important and growing segment of the workforce.

The Ernst & Young/Human Capital Institute Aging Workforce Survey, which is being administered by ExecuNet, focuses on such issues as whether employers are identifying older workers who possess business wisdom and may also be retiring from their organizations within the next five to 10 years. Retention programs aimed at older worker and pre-retirement programs are among other key survey areas.
