The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a professional association and educator in talent management strategies, announced today that Dr. Peter Cappelli, Wharton professor, best-selling author, and human resources guru, will join HCIís inaugural National Human Capital Summit, to be held in Chicago April 6-7.

Day one of the Summit, Dr. Cappelli will present The New Road to the Top: Leadership for 2010, a session that will address the characteristics of future star performers and how employers can identify, develop, and retain the next generation of leaders in their organizations.

A dramatic shift in executive careers, and in executives themselves, has occurred over the past two decades, said Allan Schweyer, HCIís Executive Director. Peter Cappelli understands the impact of these changes and how organizations can best approach leadership development and succession planning.

Cappelli has received numerous career and professional awards for his research, writing, and teaching. He is the author of the highly acclaimed book The New Deal at Work: Managing the Market-Driven Workforce.

Dr. Peter Cappelli was named one of the 25 most influential people in the field of human capital by Vault.com and one of the top 100 people in the field of recruiting by Recruiter.com.
