Rockpools, a new executive search and selection firm, has beaten tough competition to win the recruiters equivalent of a gold medal.
The Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) has chosen Rockpools to head up the search for the Chair and Chief Executive for the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), the organisation responsible for delivering the venues, transport and infrastructure needed to stage the 2012 Games.
Rockpools Chairman, Hamish Davidson said: ìI am honoured that Rockpools has been chosen to provide advice on the appointment of the top team of people who will be fundamental to the success of the Games.
ìWe will use our extensive networks to conduct a global search to ensure that the absolute best people are put forward for consideration, people who really understand and embody the values of the Games and will make them an outstanding success.
ìFor me, I know that it is going to be a very special feeling when I attend the London Olympics and Paralympics in 2012, knowing that Rockpools has had a critical early and central involvement in the eventî.
Tessa Jowell, Olympics Minister said: ìWe welcome Rockpools on board and are confident that they will put forward some outstanding candidates for considerationî.
The Rockpoolsí team will be lead by Hamish Davidson, regeneration expert Balvinder Sangha and David Fielding, who is co-incidentally the reigning world individual Aikido champion.
The Olympic Delivery Authority is due to be established as part of the London Olympics Bill, which is before Parliament. In the meantime the work is being undertaken by the London Development Agency and Transport for London.
