Professionals in Human Resources Association Bestows the Excellence in Human Resources Award to Barry J. Nadell, President of InfoLink Screening Services
On Saturday January 8th, the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) awarded Barry Nadell its 2004 Excellence in Human Resources Award in a ceremony attended by organization board members and leaders of PIHRA’s 16 distinct chapters.
Terry Kolasa, PIHRA’s 2004 President, and Mark Gross, PIHRA’s 2005 President, awarded the honor to Mr. Nadell indicating that it was well deserved.
The PIHRA Excellence in Human Resources Award is a prestigious honor bestowed upon one person each year. It is awarded to someone who has given generously to the field of Human Resources. PIHRA members consider award nominees’ professional experience and accomplishments and their strategic impact. Award recipients have contributed to the field of human resources by providing unique, special or state-of-the-art HR management and support to employers and their employees through their work, teaching, writing or other personal and professional efforts.
Barry Nadell is the President and co-founder of InfoLink Screening Services, a nationwide provider of employment background checks, drug testing and physical exams. As a recognized industry expert on the legal issues of background screening, Mr. Nadell speaks nationally on the subject and has been a featured speaker at the national conventions for PIHRA, Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and many SHRM chapters, National Human Resource Association (NHRA), American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), and many other organizations. He has written several articles for industry magazines, been featured on television programs including The Bloomberg Report and ABC News with Peter Jennings, and interviewed on more than one hundred live talk radio shows.
In late 2004 Barry Nadell published a new book titled Sleuthing 101, Background Checks and The Law. Sleuthing 101 is the only book dedicated to the subject of employment background checks and includes applicable federal and state law and a special section on employment applications. Barry Nixon of The National Institute for the Prevention of Workplace Violence called Sleuthing 101 an easy to read and understandable guide that addresses the full realm of laws that deal with background screening. Mr. Nadell is a founding member and serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) and the Association of Consumer Reporting Agencies (ACRA). He is a member of PIHRA and has donated his time for the past 10 years as a board member of PIHRA District 9. Mr. Nadell is also a member of SHRM, NHRA, ASIS, ATAP, the American Management Association (AMA) and National Speakers Association. He is also an associate member of the American, California State and Los Angeles County Bar Associations in their Labor and Employment Sections.
