Church in Wales Schools use internet to recruit

The 178 Church in Wales schools are about to benefit from a new Internet service that will enable them to reach thousands of potential teachers in Wales and beyond.

ëChurch in Wales Education Vacancies Onlineí was developed from a request by the Diocesan Directors of Education, to leading online education recruitment services provider, Eteach.com.

The service at, www.churchinwales.org.uk, (Schools)is available in both English and Welsh languages and Heads can post vacancies online immediately along with school details. Teachers anywhere in the world can view the vacancies at the site or on the main Eteach.com site, which is used by 200,000 teachers including members of UCAC, the CES (Catholic Education Service), NUT, ATL and PAT.

The immediate access to advertising online will mean that schools will be able to reach a larger selection of teachers, filling vacancies quicker and more economically. Teachers who are looking for work in a church school will be able to sort suitable vacancies in seconds.

Peter Williams, provincial Officer for Church in Wales Schools comments, ëTeachers are increasingly searching online for appropriate posts through Eteach.com and we are pleased to be able to promote opportunities in our schools to this enormous base of education staffí.

The Church in Wales has 175 primary schools distributed among the 6 dioceses of Wales and 3 secondary schools in the diocese of Llandaff. Around 25,000 pupils are educated in the schools by 1300 teachers.
